Seeds of Faith

iFellowship

I think this may be my first official blog hop and I am super excited! I was introduced to this idea over at Sonya's blog and am excited about all of the new, Christian, women that I am going to "meet" through this experience.

If you are a visitor to our little space on the world wide wide, "Welcome!" If you are already a friend, check up on the latest O'Shields' happenings and then hop on over to Seeds of Faith and get connected with some other wonderful ladies! Be sure to check back often for updates and pics from some of our family adventures!

Cow Appreciation Day

One of my favorite summer traditions is Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day. This is the 3rd year that my sister and I have taken the kiddos to our local Chick-fil-A for free chicken and lots of fun! I usually wear a costume/outfit too, but just couldn't get it together this year. I didn't think KK was going to have an outfit either, but at the last minute we pulled it together. She was a chic/sassy cow. The sign on the back of her dress said: "Chiken makes you purdy!" However, I must note that the sign she is holding in one of the pictures is in honor of her Aunt Lori a.k.a. Senora McCool. Loooove it!

You didn't actually think we would have a post without our trademark- the "O'Shields Silly Shot?" Did you?

Make You Smile Monday

(This pic really has nothing to do with this post, but I hate to post w/o pictures!)

I do not have time tonight to upload pics from our weekend adventures, but since I have been doing such a good job of posting I didn't want to not post because that would break my momentum. So, until I can get my Weekend Recap ready, I thought I would post yet another one of Mackaylan's funnies just to make you smile!

Here's the scene:

I am in the kitchen washing dishes and preparing dinner for my family. Mackaylan enters the kitchen , sniffs the air, looks at me, and says:

"I smell smoke. Mom, are YOU cooking?"

Mackaylan- she definitely does say the darndest things!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Shades of Morning

I recently had the honor of receiving a review copy of Shades of Morning by Marlo Schalesky from Multnomah Publishers. From the first word until the last page, I was intrigued.

Marnie Wittier is very comfortable with life just as it is. She is finally the owner of a coffee shop/bookstore in California- miles from where she grew up and the mistakes of her past. However, her life is turned upside down when she receives custody of her 15 yr. old nephew, Emmit. Just when Marnie thought the the regrets of her past were safely hidden away in a box on the shelf, she is forced to deal with them. Through this journey, Marnie discovers the true meaning of love, forgiveness, and second chances.

I highly recommend you add this book to you "To Read" list. You won't be dissappointed! However, I only feel it is fair to let you know that Marlo Schalesky is known for adding an unexpected twist at the end of her novels. Don't say I didn't warn you.....

Happy Reading!
