Thoughtful Thursday

I love words. I have words all over my house. Some are on picture frames. Some are used as decoration. I even have some on the wall above our bed. I remember when I was in high school I would always anticipate the arrival of my dad’s copy of Reader’s Digest each month. My favorite section was the Quotable Quotes. It was during those years that my love for words first began. And now when a quote speaks to me the first thing I try to do is write it down, but sometimes I print it off, or cut it out, and then I let it tumble around in my head until I find just the right situation to apply it or repeat it. I need to start a notebook so I can keep all of my quotes in one place. Right now they are on sticky notes, notepads, in my professional notebook, highlighted in good reads, etc. Over the next few Thursdays I will post a quote that has significant meaning to me. Feel free to leave a comment sharing your favorite quote. You never know, I might just add it to my collection!

Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning.

Four containers of sour cream and all of them expired in March or April!

Definitely not going to win the Housewife of the Month award this month! LOL

Tackle it Tuesday!

This afternoon Mackaylan suggested that we eat dinner out on the back porch. We have only done that a few times, and we all enjoy it when we do, so I thought it was a great idea! The only thing that stood in our way was the fact that all of the furniture was covered in pollen and the porch had been a major area of neglect around the O'Shields' house over the past few months. Needless to say, there was work to be done! So.... Mackaylan and I changed into our comfy clothes and headed outside with a bucket, cleaner, a few rags, the water hose, and a lot of "elbow grease!"

PS If you are wondering how to get a five year old to help with a task such as this all you have to do is tell her that it is a new game called Princess Tiana and the Restaurant. Explain that the purpose of the game is to get the "restaurant" ready for opening night. As you are working keep her engaged by asking lots of questions about the type of food she will serve, the hours of her establishment, various items on the menu, and who her first customers will be. Two hours later your task will be complete!

Yum-O!

I wanted to share this pizza creation that I whipped up for lunch today. It was so quick, simple, and delicious! I have never made pizza with pita bread as the crust, but now that I have, I will be making it this way from now on. We all loved the way it tasted! And even better than that it counted as only 3 grams of sugar and 2 net carbs!

Sausage Pita Pizza

4 Whole Wheat Pita Breads
8 Tbsp. Pizza Sauce
1 cup Shredded Cheese (pizza and/or blend)
1 pkg. Jimmy Dean Sausage (mild)

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Warm pitas on a baking sheet in the oven for 5 minutes; remove.
2. Spread 2 Tbsp. of the pizza sauce over each pita; top with cheese, sausage, and more cheese.
3. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
4. Enjoy!

I served this pizza with a nice big bowl of Caesar salad. Yum-O!

M&M

This morning my mom, Mackaylan and I went to The Peace Center to see

Madeline and the Gypsies. This was a very appropriate outing because Mackaylan and my mom have spent many, many hours bonding over the past few months while watching Madeline, the movie. The production was put on by the South Carolina Children's Theater and was a top-notch performance. Mackaylan was captivated the entire time! After the play the entire cast was available for autographs and pictures which made one little five year old very happy!

Thank you Granny and Granddaddy for a very memorable day!
