This year we kept the decor around the O'Shields household simple. I love the holidays and decorating, but this year time just flew by and before I knew it it was a Christmas Eve's Eve and I was just beginning to put presents under the tree. Whew! Needless to say, the presents were wrapped, treats were made, Santa came, and lots of quality time was spent with family and friends celebrating the birth of of our Savior! In the words of Fancy Nancy we had a splendiferous Christmas!
On the 23rd we kicked off our Christmas weekend with dinner at my Aunt Martha's. Each year I look forward to this night so much. The guys engage in lots (and lots) of sports talk and reminicising while the ladies gather around the table to enjoy lots of coffee, dessert, and small talk. And of course, I can't post about this night and not mention Jahpa's famous lasagna. It is DELICIOUS!!! After dinner, we exchange gifts. However, this year we decided to do gifts a little different. The adults donated the money that normally would be spent on gifts to Goodfellows in memory of my dad's mom and dad, but the kids still received presents. Mackaylan loved her playdough cake maker, Barbie purse and accessories, pearl bracelet and clutch purse, and Disney watch. She is such a little diva!!
Stay tuned for more O'Shields Christmas fun including our visit from Santa and SNOW!!!
