It's a..............

Last night a few of our family members and close friends gathered to find out the gender of Baby O'Shields.

Unfortunately, Mickey's parents were out of town and not able to be with us, but we will celebrate with them today.

Mackaylan and I prepared some snacks and decorated for the big event!

We also decided we would have each person take a piece of streamer to "vote" for boy or girl.

In order to allow Mackaylan to be included as much as possible in the reveal, we put either pink/blue balloons in a box. Once all of the guests arrived, she opened it...

Needless to say, we are thrilled to be adding another girl to our family! We do not have a name determined yet, but I will let you know as soon as we do. Poor Mickey is in BIG trouble! LOL

We have so much to be THANKFUL for today!

Today is a BIG day around our house! This morning we will find out the gender of Baby O'Shields! To add a little excitement, Mickey suggested that we all write our guess on a piece of paper. The person that guesses correctly gets to choose where we will go for lunch to celebrate!

Tonight we will have some of our family and close friends over to reveal the gender. After that, I will update the blog to let all of you know! To be continued........

Dear Mama,

Thank you for being a provider, supporter, encourager, listener, my mother, but most of all my friend! Over the years you have shown me the meaning of love through your actions. To me, there is no greater compliment than to hear someone say, "You are just like your Mama!" Here's to many more birthdays.

18 Weeks

I'm 18 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 18 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby O is the size of a bell pepper!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: ? I'm trying to avoid the scale :)

Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!

Gender: Can't wait to find out! We go to the doctor the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to find out. I am so excited because Mickey and Mackaylan are going to be able to go with me!

Movement: Pretty sure I have felt the baby "flutter" a few times. I can't wait until movement is more noticeable and consistent.

Sleep: I still sleep pretty good, but do have to get up to go to the restroom quite a few times!

What I miss: Nothing! We have been praying for this baby for so long I feel nothing but blessed!

Cravings: I crave different things at different times.

Symptons: I have been an emotional wreck with this baby. Life is kind of stressful right now anyway with all that I have on my plate, so a few good cries a week are necessary! LOL

Best moment this week: Talking with Mackaylan about the new baby. She loves to suggest names and is quick to let me know that she is going to help out with everything- except the "poopy diapers." Tonight she decided that was going to be Mickey's job because he likes getting dirty, and that definitely sounds alright to me!
