Halloween '10

With Halloween falling on Sunday this year many communities in our area designated Saturday as the night for festivals and trick-or-treating. As you can see from the pictures, Mackaylan dressed as Princess Ariel and she was beautiful! We had a fun time preparing for the night by adding some curls to her hair and decorating her fingernails with paint and nail stickers. Our first stop was at my Aunt Martha's house where Mackaylan received a treat bag full of special prizes. After that, we headed up the highway to Nana's. It was there we ran into the McCools and I was able to capture the "toothless cousin" shot! Once we made it to my parents we enjoyed dinner and then we took the kiddos trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. So fun!

Pumpkin Carving Party

October is one of my favorite months of the year. I love everything from the crisp, cool air to the smell of burning leaves. I love getting together with friends to visit the pumpkin patch and the process of carving a pumpkin. And the list could go on..... Last night we were able to gather with friends at the Greene's for their annual Pumpkin Carving Party. Everything about the night was perfect- from the weather to the fellowship to the delicious food. Here are a few pictures from our evening:

It's all about family.....

Last weekend Mickey, Mackaylan and I went to Cowpens Battlefield to spend the afternoon. We had a fun time walking the trail and reading all about the battle that took place many, many years ago so close to home. All along the walking trail they had stations set up that were perfect for photo ops and of course we took advantage! Mackaylan actually took the photo above and I touched it up a little using Picnik (I love that site!) Here are a few other pics from our fun, family afternoon:
Mackaylan and I are already enjoying our day off from work/school today. We are planning to spend some time with my mom and just have fun doing our favorite thing- shopping, of course. Tomorrow we have a fun afternoon planned with friends at the annual Pumpking Carving Party. And Sunday will be full of church, family, friends, and preparing for the upcoming week. What's on your weekend to-do list? Have a fantastic Friday!

15 Weeks

Posted by Picasa

I'm 15 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along: 15 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby O is the size of an apple!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: ? I'm trying to avoid the scale :)

Maternity Clothes: It just depends. However, maternity pants are a must!

Gender: Can't wait to find out! I go to the dr. next week and will make the ultrasound appointment at that time.

Movement: Pretty sure I have felt the baby "flutter" a few times.

Sleep: I still sleep pretty good, but do have to get up to go to the restroom quite a few times!

What I miss: Nothing! We have been praying for this baby for so long I feel nothing but blessed!

Cravings: I crave different things at different times.

Symptons: A little emotional at times, but DH would argue that that is not pregnancy related. LOL

Best moment this week: No big highlight - it's just just hope it keeps going by so fast!

Surprise!

Mackaylan and I decided to surprise Mickey and celebrate his birthday on Monday (his actual birthday was Tuesday.) Thanks to my wonderful Aunt Martha, we enjoyed a delectable meal that consisted of lasagna, salad, and breadsticks. For dessert, Mackaylan and I made our own cookie cake creation and it was scrumptious. We had a fun evening eating, opening presents, and just being together. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a nice evening at home with the two people I love the most!

'Da Bears

Mickey's sister, Betsi, scored Panthers vs. Bears tickets for Mickey's birthday. It just so happened that the game fell on the weekend before Mick's birthday so it was perfect! Mickey has been a Chicago Bears fan since he was a little boy. And, of course, I consider myself a Bears fan now too!
Mick and I have been fortunate to be able to watch the Bears play in Atlanta, Chicago, and now Charlotte. I've always heard "3rd times a charm" and that was true in this situation: our 3rd game, but the 1st one where the Bears won! We had a fun time tailgating, watching the game, and spending time with family.

Keeping it Real

For all of my loyal readers who feel like this girl has it all together, I hope this post doesn't disappoint you. I just want to keep it real. When I awoke this morning, I had one goal: To clean up the extra bedroom. Eventually this room will become the nursery and even though we are a few months away from making that happen, I wanted to take the first step and get it back to a presentable state. It always amazes me how fast a space can get out of hand. It all started with a stack of items that needed to go to Goodwill and a stack that needed to go to the dry cleaners. From those two stacks it quickly turned into this:

Two hours later, I am proud to show you this:

What'cha think? I am very pleased with the progress. I definitely consider it a Saturday success!

BIG NEWS!!!!

This video says it all. No other words are needed.

I (We) prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me (us) what I (we) asked of him.

1st Visit from the Tooth Fairy

We had a quick, quiet, but very exciting visit from the Tooth Fairy on Thursday night! And man, the Tooth Fairy is very generous these days. :) She left Mackaylan a special note, $2, and the new TinkerBell movie. Did you know that the Tooth Fairy and TinkerBell are friends? Well, that's what the note said. Pretty cool, huh? Needless to say, we had one very happy 5 year old in our house on Friday morning!

The only problem is the Tooth Fairy accidentally took Mackaylan's tooth pillow with her. She must have had a very busy night! Hopefully she will return it one night very soon. :)
