Tackle it Tuesday!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I am beginning to LOVE Tackle It Tuesday! For some reason, the accountability of posting the projects that I tackle just seems to motivate me. So, today I decided to tackle the never-ending battle that I seem to have with the laundry. I'm telling you it multiplies around here! This morning I began washing clothes before 8:00am and at 4:00pm I still have 3 loads to go. I know I shouldn't let it pile up, but I do. However, by the time I go to bed tonight I am hoping that all of the clothes in our house will be clean! YIPPEE! Below is a pic of some of the clothes that I have washed today. After they came out of the dryer I just piled them on our bed. After about 4 loads I folded and put them away.

Do you have a plan for keeping the laundry under control at your house? If so, please share your secret. I really think one of my goals for 2009 is going to be to wash a load of laundry everday..that includes washing, drying and putting them away! Also, head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom to read about all of the other projects that have been tackled today!

I do most of our laundry on Mondays (or tuesdays if Mon gets crazy) - for the most part, I can do a load of whites, colors & jeans and I'm done. Folding is a big chore for me, so I fold each load immediately, or I'm apt to let it lay around for a week (or more...) - we have a 3-bag hamper, so we sort as we go each day (which has been super helpful!)

If later in the week the hamper seems to be getting too full of one type of load, I'll go on and do another so that it isn't overwhelming on Mon. So far, that seems to be working well for us! If I weren't home during the day, I would probably try and do whites on Mon, colors on Tues, jeans on Weds, and break it up a bit...anything to make it more manageable! great work!

Good tackle! I must admit - I am very good at keeping my laundry under control. I simply throw one load in every evening before I start making dinner, transfer to the dryer after dinner, then fold when I have 10 free minutes that night. I never feel overwhelmed by it anymore!

I feel for ya, though. My washer has been broken since last Friday, and the repairman can't get here until Thursday. On Friday, my bed will look like your 'before' picture!

I admit laundry is one of those things I don't really enjoy. But I never do a load unless I can actually do the whole thing (other than the ironing...which I detest!). I have learned to either put a load in the wash during dinner or breakfast and then switch it over either first thing in the morning or during lunch or dinner. It seems to work well. I just try and do a load or 2 every couple of days because now that I have kids and it is winter it piles up FAST! If you find the secret to doing laundry you will be a millionaire!

I have a great way for dealing with laundry. As a matter of fact, I wish it worked for more things. My Dear Husband does it and does a great job at it!

Great tackle. I find that if I do a load every day it's a lot more manageable and the clothes don't seem to multiply as fast.

Also...a sock basket is a great time saver in the laundry room. Just fold and hang up the rest of the clothes, put all the socks in a basket. Then, sort the socks when it's convenient while you're watching your favorite TV show or something. It's much less of a chore that way. Sometimes, if the whole family is watching a program together, we'll all reach in the basket for our own socks to fold & have a race to see who finishes first.

Have a wonderful New Year!

Great tackle!

I "try" to do at least one load of laundry a day. It seems to help keep up with it some what. I will have to say though, I think laundry is my most dreaded household chore! :)
